WOW – Watchman On The Wall – Prayer points April 2018

PRAY FOR:

  • Jewish people everywhere to experience safety and fellowship while observing the feasts-
  • God will again deliver His people from the enemy-
  • no acts of violence occur inside the land of Israel while the focus is on her borders-
  • Prary there will be no civilian casualties-
  • many Jewish people will meet the Prince of Peace, Messiah Yeshua (Jesus), during- observance of the festivals

On March 30 Jewish families around the world celebrate Pesach (Passover). This commemorates the Hebrew children’s deliverance by God from Egypt to the Promised Land, the Exodus from slavery to freedom. The feast is God’s invitation to meet with Him to remember and observe, over an 8 day period. Three separate festivals known as Mo’adim (Pesach, The Feast of Unleavened Bread and the Feast of the Waving of the First Fruits). The 8 day festival concludes Saturday April 7th at midnight. This festival is part of the spring feasts that includes Shavuot (the giving of The Law to Moses on Mt. Sinai). It occurs 7 weeks after Pesach, May 20, 21 this year. These are the Lord’s feasts that He commands His people to remember and observe.

Opportunities for Attacks

These times of observing feasts have become opportunities for attacks from neighboring states. Therefore all Israeli people who get caught up in the acts of violence need our prayers. Furthermore it is especially important during these days when Jewish people observe and remember what God has done (and will do).

An Israeli security assessment is routinely carried out prior to each Jewish holiday. Hence the assessment result is a standard policy that all Israeli crossings will be closed to citizens of the Palestinian Authority during the period of feasts. Consequently this affects Gaza and PA-controlled areas of Judea and Samaria. Humanitarian, medical, and special cases are the exception and provisions are made.  As a result Israel has intentions to maintain a strong border fence to avoid a possible outbreak of combat. In addition, security will be on high alert for demonstrations or attacks in Jerusalem.

Jewish People In other Countries

We cannot ignore Jewish people residing in other countries, first of all, because everywhere they are observing these Mo’adim (festivals) and furthermore the enemy prowls “seeking whom he may devour” as witnessed in France just a few days ago with the killing of a Holocaust survivor.

See my affliction from those who hate me, O you who lift me up from the gates of death, that I may recount all your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in your salvation. The nations have sunk in the pit that they made; in the net that they hid, their own foot has been caught. The Lord has made himself known; he has executed judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands.”   Psalm 9:13b-16 ESV

“Lest you be wise in your own sight, I do not want you to be unaware of this mystery, brothers: a partial hardening has come upon Israel, until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. And in this way all Israel will be saved, as it is written, ‘The Deliverer will come from Zion, he will banish ungodliness from Jacob; and this will be my covenant with them when I take away their sins.’”  Romans 11:25-27 ESV
