~ Watchmen on the Wall “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem” Psalm 122:6a
March 2018 Prayer Points
1. Pray Israel will trust in the Lord for deliverance, not in military power, allied nations, or her own strength. Pray any defensive actions occur in ways that cause minimal harm and destruction. Also pray God will protect His people during this dangerous time.
The escalating civil war on the ground in Damascus, terrorists in Judea and Samaria (West Bank) and random missile attacks by Hamas in Gaza all point to potential of another outbreak for war overflowing into Israel. China via North Korea shipped chemicals into Syria. Iran continues to build ballistic missiles. Although war seems possible in 2018, we can expect the Israelis to assemble and defend themselves, to go against any who might attack them. 2,500 years ago the Lord intervened to preserve the Jews from annihilation as told in the story of Esther and remembered by the Purim celebration. May He show His faithfulness again.
“the king allowed the Jews who were in every city to gather and defend their lives, to destroy, to kill, and to annihilate any armed force of any people or province that might attack them…” Esther 8:11
“if it had not been the Lord who was on our side when people rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us up alive” Psalm 124:2,3a
2. Pray the Prime Minister will be able to wisely lead Israel through the intensely perilous time. Pray PM Netanyahu will turn to God in repentance if he is guilty of any misconduct. If there is a change, may God raise up a righteous leader who will understand the times and know what to do.
It is a dreadful time for distrust and/or a change in Israeli leadership. PM Netanyahu faces corruption charges while enemies are at Israel’s borders. Although it is yet to be determined whether he is guilty or innocent, the Israeli government is distracted from matters such as defense and security. Nevertheless, if Netanyahu’s tenure is up the Lord will raise up another and give knowledge for leading the Israelis during times of conflict.
“…understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do…” 1 Chronicles 12:32
“he removes kings and sets up kings; he gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding;” Daniel 2:21
“Who can tell if God will turn and relent, and turn away from His fierce anger, so that we may not perish? Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.” Jonah 3:9-10
Prayer requests for Jacob’s Hope:
Pray for upcoming ministry opportunities. We need health, stamina, and travel safety for scheduled events.
Pray for those interested in joining in the ministry of Jacob’s Hope. We need those who have a heart for the Jewish people and understanding to assist in covering the global requests we receive.
NOTE: Our prayers slow down the deterioration of the situation in the Middle East to allow more time for God’s people to repent and come to the saving knowledge of Yeshua (Jesus). As we see the destruction of Damascus (Isaiah 17), the obsession of the world with Jerusalem (Zechariah 12) and the Russian/Iranian alliance in Syria (Ezekiel 38), you are part of His-story when you pray for the peace of Jerusalem.
Allow us to partner with you to pray for your needs. It is our privilege.
