Jeff and Tammy began serving overseas in Israel in 1992. For three years they ministered among Russian-speaking Jewish immigrants from the former Soviet Union. They taught classes at Galilee Bible School and did evangelism and discipleship with new believers in Haifa. It was in this context that Jeff and Tammy learned Russian.
They served in Moscow and Rostov-on-the-Don, Russia from 1997 to 2002 and moved to Kiev, Ukraine in 2003. Jeff and Tammy have served in church planting, youth and children's ministry leadership training, women's ministries, rehab discipleship and developing literary resources among Slavic and Jewish peoples.
In early 2006, Jeff and Tammy began to work among Russian-speaking Jews in the Great Lakes area. The Cooses ministered through English as a Second Language, concert and seminar outreaches, and with the task force on Family Violence - Russian Division.
In 2009, the Cooses joined Jacob's Hope and are presently developing evangelistic outreaches, food distribution to the needy and self-sustaining projects in coordination with local Messianic congreations among the Russian Jewish communities thoughout Russia and Ukraine. Jeff also helps oversee plans in Israel to expand Jacob's Hope centers there, particularly among Russians with whom they served previously.
