Hatred Grows For the Jewish People –
Pray Against Antisemitism –
Global hatred toward the Jewish people continues to grow. Truth and reason are totally suspended where Israel is involved. The Jewish nation serves to remind the world of God and His holy demands. It is a message the world hates and the father of lies will not give up. So it is no surprise the amount of lies proclaimed through media and online posts by people repeating untruths. When uninformed young adults hold a demonstration against Israel on the railroad tracks leading to Auschwitz, one can only grieve at their blindness. However, antisemitism does not always announce itself with violence, graffiti or blaring catchphrases. Our silence allows it to hide and even grow. “The Assemblies of God purposes to confront hatred, verbal abuse, negative stereotypes, conspiracy theories, propaganda, and attacks on the lives of Jewish people.” (Extracted from the “STATEMENT AGAINST ANTISEMITISM” Nov 2022; approved by the Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God) According to the Anti-Defamation League, antisemitic acts have increased 893% since 2015. No nation is perfect, and yet, no nation is in the wrong one-hundred percent of the time. No nation knows more about missing the mark than Israel. The first of four fall feasts, Rosh Hashanah will be observed Sep 22 – 24. Rosh Hashanah is also known as the Feast of Trumpets or Head of the Year. This marks the beginning of the Days of Awe, a ten-day period of prayer, repentance, and self-examination.
“The Lord said to Moses, “Give the following instructions to the people of Israel. On the first day of the appointed month in early autumn, you are to observe a day of complete rest. It will be an official day for holy assembly, a day commemorated with loud blasts of a trumpet. You must do no ordinary work on that day. Instead, you are to present special gifts to the Lord.” Leviticus 23:23-25 NLT
PRAY FOR:
• Believers to courageously stand against antisemitism
• The Lord to remove antisemitism from societies and the church
• Uninformed people to be convicted of and repent for spreading lies about Israel
• Jesus to be revealed to the Jewish people as they pray and repent during Rosh Hashanah
Pray for Jacob’s Hope
We are sending a team to Europe to explore future teaching opportunities as well as to make connections with others serving in the area who have interest in ministry to the Jewish people. Western Europe is a hotbed for antisemitism. Having never entered this territory with the intent to engage in Jewish ministry, our team is unsure of the warfare they will encounter.
