Festival of Lights (December 14-22) – December 2025 Prayer Points
Festival Of Lights –
Prayer during the Festival of Lights (December 14-22) –
Israel is often illuminated with twinkling lights in December. Christmas is not really “a thing” in Israel so the sparkle is for the Festival of Lights. Also known as Hanukkah or the Festival of Dedication, it’s a remembrance of God’s miracle in the rededication of the Temple. When there was only enough purified oil to burn for one day, the oil burned for eight days. The Temple was significant as God’s dwelling place among the people. Two thousand years later, God’s light came into the world (John 3:19) to be among the people. His light remains with us today. “Jesus spoke to the people once more and said, ‘I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness, because you will have the light that leads to life.’” (John 8:12) It will take supernatural intervention to rebuild the people and the nation worn down by two years of war. For those who are enemies of the government, enemies toward their neighbors, and enemies of the gospel, it will take God releasing His supernatural power to bring light to the secular Jewish people, the ultra-Orthodox, and those who hate everyone. There are Israeli soldiers and families experiencing psychological, emotional, financial, physical, and spiritual defeat. Suicide is increasing among soldiers, returned hostages, and survivors of October 7th. God’s supernatural light is needed for all humanity. Knowing the Messiah as Savior, Lord, and Light of the World is worthy of celebration with twinkling lights and lavish praise!
“If you are filled with light, with no dark corners, then your whole life will be radiant, as though a floodlight were filling you with light.” Luke 11:36 NLT

Pray for Jacob’s Hope
Last month in Ethiopia a Messianic church was burned to the ground by those who hate. We know and love the leadership of that congregation. We recently sent funds to assist them, in addition to funds for food for refugee orphans from Sudan who have been pushed into this region of Ethiopia.
“The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:4-5 NLT
