We are excited to announce that Lee and Akaya Kitchen are joining the Jacob’s Hope team! Akaya will be the main face that you see, while Lee continues his full-time remote work with the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is the administrator for language access and is a certified Spanish interpreter. Akaya joins us with a background of fifteen years of Jewish advocacy and ministry. She founded Lifting Up Zion in 2014, and is now dissolving it to join us at Jacob’s Hope. She completed a Doctor of Ministry in Messianic Jewish Studies at the King’s University in Southlake, TX. Her doctoral thesis, “Messianic Jews and Antisemitism: Responses and Jewish Perspectives,” explores how Messianic Jews respond to antisemitism and what other Jews think about their response. She also brings four years of experience teaching at the university level, and is an ISGAP (Institute for the Study of Global Antisemitism and Policy) Research Fellow. Akaya shares, “More important than any credential, education, or training, however, we need the Lord’s guidance and empowerment to do what He has called us to do.” She has chosen Romans 15:25-27 as her life verse, devoting her life to sharing the Gospel and being a blessing.
