Aaronic Blessing – January 2025 Prayer Points

Aaronic Blessings –

The Blessing of the Lord

‘The Lord bless you and keep you;

the Lord make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you;

the Lord lift up his face upon you and give you peace.”

We are familiar with these words recorded in the book of Numbers 6:24-26. Known as the Aaronic Blessing, God gave this to Moses to give to Aaron and his sons with the instructions to pray these exact words over His people. Aaron and his sons were the priesthood and the only ones who could speak this blessing over God’s people. When they daily spoke this blessing, it was as if to remind them of the Lord’s presence with them. This first sentence includes the idea of the Lord keeping His people safe. “Bless” in Hebrew is barakh, meaning to kneel down. “Keep” is from the root Hebrew word shamar, meaning to hedge about. Possibly this is a picture of the Lord coming close providing a hedge of protection. The second line has to do with experiencing God’s favor. The last line has the Lord turning His face toward His people, giving them His full attention. The result is feeling the peace (shalom) of God. These are powerful words. All people deserve relationship with God, and all people deserve to have Him draw near with protection, turn His face toward them, and give them His peace that surpasses all understanding.

 PRAY BLESSING OVER:

  • Those serving in the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) and elsewhere where they sacrifice their lives to protect others and the security of their nation
  • The families of those serving who live with anxiety
  • Government and military leaders who need the Lord’s guidance
  • The Jewish people who do not yet know their Savior
  • Jerusalem

 Pray for Jacob’s Hope

Over three years our missionaries have traveled to Ethiopia to teach classes to Messianic pastors at the Addis Bible College. These thirty-five Messianic leaders have studied to show themselves approved and will receive a theology certificate upon completion of the final two classes this month. During these years, our supporters have faithfully provided resources to disciple these pastors who represent 65 Messianic congregations. In turn, they will disciple their congregations. We are thankful for everyone’s involvement, through prayers and/or finances, because together we are part of God’s plan for reaching the Jewish people with the Good News.

“ All Scripture is God-breathed and is valuable for teaching the truth, convicting of sin, correcting faults and training in right living; thus anyone who belongs to God may be fully equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 CJB
