Desert Wandering – October 2025 Prayer Points

Desert Wandering remembered during Sukkot –

Prayer during Sukkot

Yom Kippur (Day of Atonement) ended on October 2. The next festival is Sukkot, Feast of Tabernacles, October 6-13, when the Jewish people construct temporary, outdoor structures. To remember the forty years of desert wandering, families and friends come together in outdoor booths to joyfully celebrate God’s blessings and miraculous provision. These are open to the sky drawing one’s attention to the Creator and His heavenly creation. It’s an invitation to come nearer to Him.  Jesus participated in Sukkot as written in the Gospel of John, Chapter 7, and He invited the people to come nearer to Him. “On the last day, the climax of the festival, Jesus stood and shouted to the crowds, ‘Anyone who is thirsty may come to me! Anyone who believes in me may come and drink! For the Scriptures declare, ‘Rivers of living water will flow from his heart.’” (John 7:37-38)  Jesus was referring to the Holy Spirit who would be given to everyone believing in Him. The world appears to be entering a season of revival. This Sukkot may we hear reports of more Jewish people coming nearer to meet our Messiah and receive the Holy Spirit. That would make an exceptionally joyous Sukkot celebration.

“Even now,” declares the LORD, “return to me with all your heart …” Joel 2:12 NIV

Pray with Jacob’s Hope

In the last month, we had increased communications from prayer partners. Several are surprised by hateful online comments to this ministry; however, this is not unique to a Jewish-focused ministry. Other inquiries show concern over the repeated prayer focus against antisemitism. Twice this year it has been a subject for monthly prayer. Honestly, it could, and should, be a matter of prayer every day of the year. When the Jewish people suffer, He suffers, also. “In all their affliction He was afflicted.” (Isaiah 63:9 NLT) The closer we get to Messiah’s return “all the nations of the earth will be gathered together against her.” (Zech. 12:3). This ever-increasing danger may move us to cry out for mercy for Israel and weep with those who weep.

This ministry has a big prayer request. Our Israel ministry center has received from the local municipality a tax bill for the last three years amounting in the tens of thousands of dollars. Although we know that even as a non-profit we owe tax, we expected a 60% discount as granted to all Israeli non-profits.

“Bless those who curse you. Pray for those who hurt you.” Luke 6: 28 NLT

PRAY FOR:

  • Favor with the local municipality
  • New eyes to review our submitted documents for tax decision
  • A fair tax bill in alignment with the tax laws of the nation
  • Open doors to begin ministry in Europe
  • Our MA Hannah is itinerating to raise total funding
  • Financial resources for upcoming repairs to JH’s headquarters
  • Travel protection over our missionaries
