FEAST OF LOTS / PURIM – March 2026 Prayer Points
FEAST OF LOTS / PURIM –
Purim and Antisemitism
Feast of Lots / Purim is the yearly Jewish day of remembrance/celebration of God’s intervention to prevent the annihilation of the Jewish people living in Persia (Iran) in the 5th century B.C. The Book of Esther is an historical record of this event. The entire book is read by Jewish people the world over in the evening before Purim which is March 3 this year.
It is a short but exciting story of God working through people: Mordecai, Queen Esther, the Jewish people, and King Ahasuerus. Mordecai spoke the familiar passage to Queen Esther in chapter 4, verse 14: “For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”
The Executive Presbytery of the Assemblies of God published their approved antisemitism statement on Nov 18, 2022. The following is extracted from the last paragraph of the statement: “The Assemblies of God purposes to confront hatred, verbal abuse, negative stereotypes, conspiracy theories, propaganda, and attacks on the lives of Jewish people. Additionally, the Assemblies of God purposes to address antisemitic theological paradigms and reject any fabrication that the New Testament is anti-Jewish. We resolve to biblically bless the Jewish people as we anticipate and pray for their full spiritual redemption (Genesis 12:1-3; Romans 11:25-26).”
It’s our time in history when the Lord is using spirit-filled believers to pray for and then address the injustices against the Jewish people. We are their strongest allies.
“Because I love Zion, I will not keep still. Because my heart yearns for Jerusalem, I cannot remain silent. I will not stop praying for her until her righteousness shines like the dawn, and her salvation blazes like a burning torch. ” Isaiah 62:1 NLT
PRAY FOR:
- Exposing and halting any plans of those conspiring against God’s people before deaths or property damage occurs.
- The Jewish people having exposure to racism or assault to find comfort through the Holy Spirit.
- The spirit-filled believers to be grounded in biblical truth regarding the Jewish people and their right to statehood in their ancestral homeland.
- The salvation of the Jewish people.
Prayer for Those Returning Home
This request came from one of our partners in Israel. She specifically requested prayer for the reserve men and women. Her statement: “They are done and have no more strength, and alongside them, their families. Financially they are really hurting and need help, encouragement, and healing.” This is extremely concerning as the war is far from over. They’ll surely be needed again to serve. The only true hope for them to recover from the PTSD and rebuild lives is to call upon the Name of the Lord.
“For I hold you by your right hand—I, the Lord your God. And I say to you ‘Don’t be afraid. I am here to help you.’” Isaiah 41:13 NLT
PRAY FOR:
- The reservists to receive hope and encouragement.
- Their relationships with God, family, and community to be restored.
- Their salvation.
- Their physical, emotional and mental wounds to be healed.
- Their financial needs to be met whether through benevolence or employment.

She blends well with our team, holds credentials with the AG, is familiar with all things Jewish, and speaks conversational Hebrew. She is a valuable team member.
“Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished.” 1 Chronicles 28:20 NLT
PRAY FOR:
- Holy Spirit’s leading to next steps
