December 2023 – God Is Working All Things For Good
God Is Working All Things For Good –
Prayer in time of crisis
For those praying for the peace of Jerusalem, in spite of how things appear, God is working all things together for good in His timing, His way, and for His glory. The political struggles dividing the nation of Israel came to a halt on October 7. Since then, their very existence as a nation depends on them being unified as a people. Stories of miraculous protection over soldiers and interruptions to enemy attacks are surely answers to prayer. Hearts once closed to the Good News are open to our Messiah who gives salvation through faith in Him, hope and true peace. Multiple ministries of believers are combining resources and manpower to serve as one body assisting soldiers and displaced people. Prayer warriors from various denominations unite as one voice for deliverance from evil. Despite these few good reports, minds are still held captive by religion. Humanity is defined, not as God’s children, but as “victims and oppressors”. Evil still roams looking for those to devour. The peace of Jerusalem is not yet realized. There is a battle to wage on our knees. Unity is a strong defense and displays God’s glory in the middle of war by increasing His kingdom.
“Jerusalem, we pray that you will have peace, and that all will go well for those who love you. May there be peace inside your city walls and in your palaces. Because of my friends and my relatives, I will pray for peace. And because of the house of the Lord our God, I will work for your good.” Psalm 122:6-9
PRAY FOR:
- Discipleship of new believers in Messiah (Colossians 1:28-29)
- Believers to intentionally put aside differences and trust the Lord to bring unity (John 17:21)
- The body of believes to put on the whole armor of God, to use the shield of faith and the sword of the Spirit
- Ministry volunteers who are working in stressful environments to encourage one another in the Lord, be patient, and comfort one another as they have received comfort
- The volunteers to rest well each night and have stamina each day
- People to unite against the unseen spiritual enemy and not against each other (Ephesians 6:12)
- The Lord to give military leaders and the government an abundance of wisdom and Spirit-guided unity (Daniel 2:21)
- The protection of and safe return of hostages
- Israelis and Gazans to have dreams revealing Messiah, to come to repentance and salvation (Psalm 27:7-9)
