A Witness – 

Israel has a national calling to be a witness. God chose one nation to reveal the Scriptures and the Messiah, giving revelation of whom the Scriptures speak. God has always wanted Israel to be a witness to how real God is, how close He dwells, and how He answers prayer. All this so the surrounding nations will turn from their false gods and come to worship the Holy One. Historically, and presently, Israel is anything but a light to the nations – continuing war with surrounding nations, internal conflict in the government, demands by the Orthodox, military resentment with increasing AWOL status, a national spirit of depression with increasing suicide – this testifies to a nation in need of a Savior. Even though Israel is chosen to be a light to the nations, the individual Jewish person has no special path to salvation. This is the reason for Jewish evangelism. The Messiah is the answer to Israel fulfilling God’s calling to be the witness to the nations.

“Listen! Your watchmen lift up their voices; together they shout for joy! When the Lord returns to Zion, they will see it with their own eyes. Burst into songs of joy together, you ruins of Jerusalem, for the Lord has comforted his people, he has redeemed Jerusalem. The Lord will lay bare his holy arm in the sight of all the nations,

and all the ends of the earth will see the salvation of our God.” Isaiah 52:8-10 NIV

PRAY FOR:

  • God to comfort the Israeli people in a way that draws them ever closer to Him.
  • A national repentance and awakening in Israel.
  • Many more salvations of Jewish and Arab peoples.

Jacob’s Hope

With Israel’s turmoil come increasing requests for the New Testament in Hebrew. Hearts are tender to know about the Messiah. This is an exciting time to witness God moving!

“How beautiful on the mountain are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion,

PRAY FOR:

  • More workers for Jewish evangelism.
  • All the missionaries who have multiple trips scheduled this month.
  • The missionaries who have speaking engagements to have God’s peace, His presence, and favorable outcomes.
