Prayer for Israel’s PEACE
Pray for the peace of Jerusalem! “May they be secure who love you!” Psalm 122:6 ESV
PRAY FOR:
- God’s will for the election outcome for Prime Minister
- The coalition government to form quickly
- The IDF soldiers needing protection, discernment, courage, strength, and a relationship with their Messiah
- A new meeting space for the Ethiopian Messianic congregation in Jerusalem
- The unspoken needs for a Believer-owned business in Israel
- Financial supply for the Messianic congregations meeting the spiritual and physical needs of Ukrainian refugees
- The Messianic community to mature in unity
- The Jewish people who during the Days of Awe had the veil removed from their eyes; they need connection with a congregation and discipleship, encouragement to stand strong against attacks to their thoughts
Pray against Antisemitism
Unfounded and exaggerated fears of Jewish power and influence historically develop a response of antisemitism. The Jewish Orthodox is a more obvious target group for antisemitism because of their customary clothing. This group often refuses army service, and instead of choosing to work to provide for family, relies upon welfare while they study Torah. This breeds resentment among secular Israelis and others living near large Jewish Orthodox communities.
Church theology can also contribute to antisemitism. Traditional replacement theology teaches the Church replaces Israel in God’s heart and covenant promises. Today there is a new form of replacement theology known as fulfillment theology, Christian Palestinianism, or Palestinian fulfillment theology. Fulfillment theology teaches it is not the Church directly disinheriting Israel; it is Jesus Himself, because the Church is in Him. This is loosely based on Matthew 5:17. “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” Christian Palestinianism theology came out of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. Palestinian evangelicals had to make a choice: Palestinian nationalism or God’s purposes for Israel. Their theology was developed largely from personal suffering and placing the blame on others. Palestinian theology downplays or dismisses the Old Testament even regarding it as a book of Jewish myth. They do not believe Jesus is returning since He has already fulfilled all the Hebrew promises. Therefore, there is no biblical basis for Israel to exist and no restoration of the Jewish people in end times. This erroneous idea is gaining support around the
world. It undermines Christian Zionism and evangelical support of Israel with the negative result of growing antisemitism.
PRAY FOR:
- Physical, mental and spiritual protection of the Jewish Orthodox community against antisemitic attacks
- Those in the Jewish Orthodox community who are seeking employment to find the jobs
they need to provide for their families
- God’s love, healing and grace for our brothers and sisters, the Christian Palestinians
- Christian Palestinians to see the true source of their personal pain is spiritual
- Believers to be alert to subtle spread of replacement theology and to stand upagainst antisemitism
- World governments and religious leaders will take public stands against antisemitism
Prayer for Jacob’s Hope
We are thankful for intercessors who pray for this ministry’s needs. The recent trips to Ethiopia and Israel were smooth. We know your prayers made the difference. May the Lord’s shalom be upon you. “Therefore, my dearly loved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord—because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.” 1 Corinthians 15:58
