January / February 2017 Prayer Points
1. Pray to keep The Land as one country. Pray those who voted against Israel will have remorse or unsettled feeling that something is wrong and will resolve to either repeal or change the resolution so it is not one sided against Israel.
December 23, 2016 the United Nations Security Council passed Resolution 2334 condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank and calling eastern Jerusalem “illegal”. The resolution reiterated international support for a two-state solution. The resolution passed with 14 votes for and one abstention.
Adonai is King forever and ever! Nations will be wiped off His land. Psalm 10:16 TLV
2. Pray for countries to stand with Israel. Pray nations refuse to participate in any BDS movement against Israel.
The UN Resolution 2334 also has wording that could lead to strengthening the BDS Movement (boycott, divestment, sanctions). It opens the door for boycotts of goods made in the Jewish settlements in the West Bank. The European Union already has a policy of labeling settlement products. There is concern other nations could make similar policy. This could lead to “blacklisting” of companies doing business in the settlements. Also, there could be sanctions imposed against Israel through the creation of mechanisms to monitor and report Israeli actions in settlement areas.
On January 8 the US Congress voted to defend Israel against UN Resolution 2334 either to repeal or change it so it is no longer one-sided and anti-Israel.
God, do not keep silent. Do not hold Your peace, O God. Do not be still. For look, Your enemies make an uproar. Those who hate You lift up their head. They make a shrewd plot against Your people, conspiring against Your treasured ones. “Come” they say, “ lets wipe them out as a nation! Let Israel’s name be remembered no more!” Psalm 83:2-5 TLV
3. Pray for protection from terrorists inside Israel.
January 8 saw an attack inside Jerusalem when a driver plowed his truck into a group of Israeli soldiers disembarking from their bus. Attacks are mainly lone-wolf stabbings and deliberate car crashes.
Blessed be Adonai, who has not given us as prey for their teeth. Our soul has escaped like a bird out of the snare of the trappers the snare is broken, and we escaped! Our help is in the Name of Adonai, Maker of heaven and earth. Psalm 124:6-8 TLV
