October 2018 Prayer Points – Increasing Prejudice

For Jews who follow Messiah Jesus there is increasing prejudice, harassment, and violence due to the Orthodox religious community’s leadership in government. Also just a week ago a Messianic congregation’s newly remodeled congregational building in Ashdod was the target of vandalism by two members of an Orthodox community with the perpetrators’ actions recorded by a security camera. Another example is in granting Israeli citizenship. In addition increasingly Messianic believers who move to Israel and meet all legal requirements are encountering delays or denials to receive citizenship.

 “Administer true justice. Let everyone show mercy and compassion to his brother.  Don’t oppress widows, orphans, foreigners or poor people. Don’t plot evil against each other.” – Zechariah 7:9-10

PRAYER: May Messianic believers forgive others as you have forgiven them. Bring a perpetrator to conviction and repentance. Let everyone show mercy and compassion to his brother. Thank you for protecting Israel’s Messianic community from the Evil One.  

Jews worldwide just ended the fall feasts when they humble themselves in repentance and then joyfully celebrate a restored relationship with ADONAI. During this time the hearts of many Jews are sensitive to the need of forgiveness.

“because Adonai your God will bless you in all your crops and in all your work, so you are to be full of joy!” – Deuteronomy 16:15b CJB

PRAYER:  Lord, we pray for Jewish people to be open to the Word of truth. May they continue to desire the intimacy they experienced during the fall feasts and seek your face and not just your hand. Thank you in advance for the joy of Your salvation for the many Jewish people who will come to faith.

Requests for Jacob’s Hope:

• Director Brent Johnson & Bonnie Johnson are in Buenos Aires, Argentina for two weeks where they are mentoring future pastors at the Assembly of God Bible College in evangelism to Jewish people and Jewish roots of Christianity through “History of Jewish-Christian Relations”.

• Acquisition of property in Israel for The Hope Center is almost finalized. The office/warehouse remodeling is coming to completion with plans for occupancy being made. The team overseeing the purchase of this property is in need of prayer for refreshing and strength.

• Opportunities for future ministry

• More intercessors for Israel

PRAYER:  Your favor is upon us and we recognize you leading us. Bless Brent and Bonnie with health and strength for the long days of teaching. Also for weekend speaking engagements at Messianic congregations. With the Hope Center we have the opportunity to streamline our compassion ministry in Israel and host meetings for the growing Messianic community. Refresh and strengthen our missionaries as they serve. Especially thank you ADONAI for expanding the ministry opportunities for Jacob’s Hope.
