April 2021 Prayer Points – Extraordinary Things In Africa
Africa – Ethiopia
Something extraordinary is happening in Ethiopia, Africa. The Jewish believer, the Christian and others from various cultures are making every effort. They are working to preserve the unity the Spirit gives through the binding power of shalom. (Ephesians 4:3 CJB) The Africa: Ethiopian Assembly of God pastors are responding with open hearts. Ethiopian pastors are better understanding the roots of Christianity. In addition, doors are opening for cooperation between churches and messianic congregations.
This will allow for training, fellowship, and outreaches. Meanwhile we are witnessing something epic. The common goal of serving God overrides all differences between people and unites in peace. Further more the Jewish population generally lives in the mountainous northern region of Ethiopia. Their communities are remote. Living conditions are primitive. Water sources are sparse. Meanwhile outsiders often hold superstitions about the Jewish people. Church plants and wells are planned for these remote communities. The Jewish people will hear the Good News of Messiah in these remote areas.
“Furthermore, he gave some people as emissaries, some as prophets, some as proclaimers of the Good News, and some as shepherds and teachers. Their task is to equip God’s people for the work of service that builds the body of the Messiah, until we all arrive at the unity implied by trusting and knowing the Son of God, at full manhood, at the standard of maturity set by the Messiah’s perfection.”—Eph 4:11-13 CJB
PRAY FOR AFRICA: ETHIOPIA:
- The equipping of God’s people for the work of service
- Healings and freedom from bondages
- Pray that superstitions to be broken
- Pastor training to include understanding the roots of Christianity
- The many ethnic groups to strengthen in unity through Jesus
Pray for Israel
The fourth election produced no majority for forming a coalition government. Also the country is loosening restrictions, and the masses are gathering as 50% of the population is fully vaccinated. More Jewish immigrants are moving to Israel to escape inflation, anti-Semitism, or in response to the call of God to “come home”.
PRAY FOR:
- God to intervene in the government and bring order out of confusion
- Also new immigrants to assimilate, contribute to the unity and advancement of the country
- The Jewish person will seek the One True God with his whole heart and find Jesus
- Also Protection from her enemies, viral and otherwise
Pray for Jacob’s Hope Missionaries to Africa
This month two of our missionaries are traveling to Ethiopia to minister in congregations, encourage and teach. The missionaries will also participate in a water well dedication being built with funding from this ministry. Similarly future partnerships are being planned for more wells and church plants in the mountain communities.
- Protection over missionaries Brent and Wade as they minister in Ethiopia, April 16-May 3
- Also equip missionaries with a fresh outpouring of the Spirit to effectively accomplish ministry
- Trustworthy, equally yoked partnerships for future ministry in Ethiopia
- Also funding for two more wells in Jewish communities
- Likewise Encourage and strengthen all our missionaries
