Pray for the Jewish people of Ethiopia
Firstly 8,000 Ethiopian Jews wait for aliyah, or Jewish immigration to Israel. Secondly those waiting have the opportunity to receive instruction from Israeli volunteers to learn Hebrew, Jewish law and Bible study in preparation for assimilation in Israel. Importantly in 2015, the Israeli government pledged to allow all remaining Ethiopian Jews to make aliyah. Also one thousand are accepted to immigrate during 2019.
“I will give them one heart and one way, so they may fear Me forever; for their good and for their children after them.” Jeremiah 32:39 TLV
PRAYER: Thank you Heavenly Father for calling volunteer teachers who sacrifice to teach the remnant of Ethiopian Jews. Give these teachers all they need. Provide access to the classes for the students willing to learn. Furthermore while these Jewish people wait for aliyah, use them to serve one another. Please meet their physical, material and spiritual needs. Thank you for changing the lives of future generations because of choices made today. In conclusion thank you for the work being done in Ethiopia.
Prayer over Israel
A most important national election is scheduled April 9th in Israel. Confidence in PM Netanyahu has plummeted as there are four pending legal cases against him. Likewise adding to this is the discontent among many secular Israelis with the Netanyahu government coalition which grants too much power to the ultra-orthodox in the Interior Ministry allowing them to control many aspects of daily life: birth registry, marriage, death, and immigration rights.
The majority of secular Israeli citizens want a more diverse, democratic atmosphere breaking the power of the ultra-orthodox which control the definition of who is a Jew, how today’s Judaism is defined and who, despite their birthright, does not fit into that category. Meanwhile Israel’s security and peace deals take the limelight in this election. For Israeli Jewish believers in Messiah, however, the concern is whether or not Jewish believers are welcomed to return to the land of their forefathers and also able to enjoy religious freedom as full and valued Israeli citizens.
“Blessed be the Name of God forever and ever, for wisdom and might are His. God changes times and seasons. He removes kings and installs kings. He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to the discerning.” Daniel 2:20-21 TLV
PRAYER: Father, raise up a righteous person for the position of Prime Minister. Give wisdom to the candidates and knowledge to the ones who have understanding. We praise your name for placing the person you choose into this leadership position. We pray for the safety and security of the nation as it goes through the election process. Thank you for leading Israel through transition.
