/ May 12, 2021/ Prayers

Shavuot for 2021 starts May sixteen.

For several weeks I (Debby) was with my sister. Together we were caring for our 96 year-old father in her home. He departed this world on May 9. I apologize for the late preparation of the prayer points. Also, thank you for praying effective and powerful prayers for the success of our missionaries’ travels in Ethiopia. In June I will provide an update and specific needs.

Prayer for Israel

The turmoil in Israel is all over the news. The anger of the enemy is rampant in the Land and against the people of God. There is no let up on the amount of rockets being fired, injuries, and damage.

“When my troubling thoughts multiply within me, Your consolations comfort my soul.”

Psalm 94:19 TLV

PRAY FOR:

  • The war will supernaturally cease
  • Divine protection
  • The Word and Spirit of God to remove fear and console the people
  • The children

Prayers for Shavuot

Shavuot is the celebration to remember the giving of the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai occurring seven weeks after the Exodus from Egypt.  The festival this year begins sunset on May 16 until nightfall on May 17. This is one of three festivals when the Lord commanded the people to go to the Temple. Without the Temple, the festival centers on the Jewish community gathering in the synagogue where they hear the reading of the Ten Commandments and observe other traditions.

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for God’s own possession, so that you may proclaim the praises of the One who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.”  1 Peter 2:9 TLV

PRAY FOR:

  • 1. The people will turn to God with their whole heart, soul and mind
  • 2. The people will praise the Lord for calling them out of darkness into His marvelous light
  • 3. The people in relationship with Jesus will experience the power of the Holy Spirit
