November 2018 Prayer Points – We mourn with the Jewish people
We mourn with the Jewish people and Pittsburgh for the senseless loss of life last week at the Tree of Life synagogue.
The tragic shooting is shocking, but not surprising. This event rocks the global Jewish community because everyone feels the pain when one (or many) experiences tragedy. We know God’s people are targeted by the enemy. We just don’t know where or when these atrocities will occur. Anti-Semitism is intensifying everywhere. We can make laws against hate crimes but we cannot erase hatred in a heart. Only the Lord can change hearts. We have the privilege to intercede, stand beside, and show compassion to Jewish people.
“I love that Adonai heard my voice when I prayed; because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live. The cords of death were all around me, Sh’ol’s constrictions held me fast; I was finding only distress and anguish. But I called on the name of Adonai: ‘Please, Adonai! Save me!’.” Psalm 116:1-4
“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
PRAYER: Lord, thank you for not leaving us alone to grieve as the world grieves. We pray you will comfort and give strength to the shocked and grieving families at Tree of Life synagogue, the Pittsburgh community, and Jewish people around the world who mourn with their brothers and sisters in Pittsburgh. We pray for your shalom to cover the mourners like a blanket. We pray you place around Jewish people a hedge of protection from further attacks. Lord, we know only you can change hearts so please change hearts to love and not hate these who are the apple of your eye. Thank you for intercessors and people who will bless Jewish people through compassionate acts. Thank you for always hearing us when we cry to you and for answering.
Last month, while in Buenos Aires, Jacob’s Hope missionaries saw Bible school students respond to an altar call to introduce Messiah Yeshua to Jewish people and 10 people accepted Yeshua as Savior at the local Messianic service where Brent spoke.
“We always thank God for all of you, regularly mentioning you in our prayers, calling to mind before God our Father what our Lord Yeshua the Messiah has brought about in you — how your trust produces action, your love hard work, and your hope perseverance. We know, brothers, that God has loved and chosen you; that the Good News we brought did not become for you a matter only of words, but also one of power, the Ruach HaKodesh and total conviction — just as you know how we lived for your sakes when we were with you.” 1 Thessalonians 1:2-5
PRAYER: Lord, thank you for opening this door to teach in Argentina and the fruit from this ministry. We pray these Bible school students be empowered by Holy Spirit to develop friendships with Jewish people and share Truth. Bring revival to the students. Please give them favor as they reach out to introduce Messiah Yeshua to Jewish people. Thank you for bringing more Argentinian Jewish people into relationship with you. Thank you for our intercessory partners who pray for the souls of Jewish people in Argentina and the success of the Bible school course presented by our missionaries.
